Welcome back to our adventures in Tamarindo, Costa Rica! We’ve had an incredible time spotting wildlife, taking in the mesmerizing fireflies, and enjoying the beauty of Playa Langosta. Join us as we share the highlights of our journey!
Costa Rica’s natural wonders have delighted us with sightings of monkeys and iguanas around town, and the evenings have been magical with the mesmerizing dance of fireflies in the jungle near our Airbnb. Unlike our previous two-week trips, this three-month stay has allowed us to embrace the laid-back charm of everyday life, even during quieter moments. Yet, we still managed to keep our boys engaged and excited by exploring beyond Tamarindo.
To venture into the surrounding areas, we decided to rent an electric golf cart, which turned out to be a fantastic choice. The joy on our boys’ faces as we cruised around was priceless. We explored north to the Auto Mercado supermarket near Villa Real, east to the stunning hills of Tamarindo with its breathtaking views of the town, ocean, and anchored boats, and south to the tranquil Playa Langosta, a beach that left us in awe with its uncrowded shores and a picturesque jungle hike leading to the water.
The hills of Tamarindo are home to some magnificent properties, and driving through them in our golf cart was an adventurous experience, even on the dirt roads and steep slopes. We couldn’t help but wonder how intense the drive would be during the rainy season, considering most locals rely on rugged 4x4s or dual sport motorcycles.
Playa Langosta was a hidden gem we won’t forget. The boys had a blast collecting shells, building sandcastles, and exploring the tide pools. The untouched beauty of this beach, despite the warning signs about crocodiles, made it one of the most memorable spots we’ve ever visited. Although our golf cart adventure was short-lived, it reignited our excitement for exploring more of Costa Rica’s beautiful coastline.
As our time in Tamarindo dwindles, we carry with us cherished memories of a fulfilling journey. The encounters with wildlife, the thrills of our golf cart escapade, and the serene beauty of Playa Langosta have left a lasting impression. We depart at the end of the month to Samara with a promise to return someday. Until then, pura vida!
